Portugese sludge/doom metal act SINISTRO are going to release ther new album titled  “Sangue Cássia” on January 5, 2018 via Season of Mist. The artwork for the album was created by Pedro Carmo and you can find the artwork and the tracklist below. You can pre-order the album at this link.

The band is going to be joining the legendary British doom/gothic metal act PARADISE LOST on their European tour supporting their latest release “Medusa”. To celebrate, Sinistro recorded a cover of Paradise Lost’s “Nothing Sacred” taken off of the Brit’s 1999 album “Host”. The song is going to be included in the limited vinyl edition of the band’s upcoming album. Sinistro comment: “Now, we are about to start to hit the road with Paradise Lost and this is a dream come true for us. Paradise Lost had a great influence on us, when we started to grow into heavy music. ‘Gothic’ was our first point of contact and they were opening for Sepultura in Lisbon in 1994. It is quite an honor to be invited to join them on tour and we are very excited about it. We have created this cover of ‘Nothing Sacred’ as a tribute to show our appreciation and create a connection to our music. We hope that you will check us out and that we will see you on tour!” You can hear the track below.

03. Pétalas
04. Vento Sul

After releasing the highly praised “Semente” in 2016, “Sangue Cássia” marks another huge step in the career of the remarkable band fronted by vocalist extraordinaire Patrícia Andrade. The new full-length clearly shows the confidence and experience gained from their numerous live performances. Sinistro succeed in expanding their sonic horizon, while keeping all the elements that made “Semente” special. The melancholy and painful longing expressed in the national chant of Portugal, Fado is seamlessly forged together with rock and metal. Sinistro harness erotic energy and lustful moments as well as bitterness and regret. Silky softness and velvet warmth contrasts sharply with harsh edges and stinging spikes.
