Serbia’s prestigious Exit Festival has just announced the first headliner for the 2019 edition of the festival, to be held from July 4th to July 7th at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad. The band is none other than the English alternative rock veterans THE CURE.
The band added the Exit Festival date to their growing tour aimed to feature at least 20 festival slots next summer, including Hurricane Festival in Scheessel, Germany and Rock Werchter in Belgium. The band’s Robert Smith also announced the band will be working on new material for the first new album since 2008’s “4:13 Dream”.
The Cure was formed in Crawley, West Sussex in 1976, with Smith as the only constant member of the numerous lineups. The band celebrated its 40th anniversary this year with a couple of special shows in London.
