BODY COUNT
“Bloodlust”
Groove metal, Rap metal
(Century Media Records, 2017)

The fact that Ice-T gathered this band along with Ernie-C to make a pass toward Europe because the crowd on “Old continent” is crazier than the one on the North American continent, still remains.

I remember that May in 2014. Their “Manslaughter” provide me salvation from the situation that I was in. And because of that situation, I wasn’t able to share with you my fascinations from their comeback album, which I couldn’t forgive myself. But, we should forget the past and turn to the future. Ice-T and his crew are here again with their new album “Bloodlust”

Comparing it with their previous album, these guys raised the scale of anger and metal music on the upper level. From the first sound of the opening track “Civil War,” you will be sure that Ernie C and Juan will crush you with their brilliant riffs, but the rhythm section is not that far away from them at all. And when you add a fact that the guest in opening track is wearing a name, Dave Mustaine

The fact that Ice-T gathered this band along with Ernie-C to make a pass toward Europe because the crowd on “Old continent” is crazier than the one on the North American continent, still remains. Of course, not even this time we won’t escape cover of some classic tune, as we already had a chance to hear on some of their videos from the band rehearsals. Cover of Slayer song “Raining in Blood/Postmortem” will certainly gather all the ovations from fans, and the band will definitely enrich their repertoire with one more famous song. No matter how much we try to present something new to people, that will never be accepted at first the way we wanted to be, and we would need at least 5 years for that music to become alive. And probably, from that fact comes the urge for cover songs. Or that is just commemorating. However, as long as they don’t sound bad we won’t take them for a mistake.

On the other hand, no matter how angry Ice-T was and no matter how hard he tried to promote metal music in the right way, we still have a nasty reality show in which he reveals his personal life with Coco Austin. Pardon me, but I think that’s not allowed for any famous person who stands for good music and promotes a healthy value system. I try to be blind to one eye because of this fact, but it certain that it leaves a bitter taste in our mouth. If it doesn’t, there is really something wrong with you.

But we should go back to the first (the real one) story. The fact is that BODY COUNT recorded a new album worth of our attention. That album contains everything that one metal album should have. The collection of hit songs will give you the flow like every time before, and you will have to listen to the album from beginning to the end.

Of course, Dave is not the only guest on this album. Beside him, the guest vocals are Max Cavalera in “All love is lost” and Randy Blythe from Lamb of God in “Walk With me..” (Don’t worry, it’s not IN HELL).

All these facts make this album one of most metal albums that Body Count has ever made. Unlike the previous one, this album does not have the songs that will become the grate hits, but certainly is one hard and painful album which will give all the metal lovers a good fun. Don’t expect a revolutionary record that will change the music industry, but expect the revolution against the all that is bad.
